TKAMB CFR Application
Discuss:
What is justice? What
would justice look like in To Kill a
Mockingbird?
How can the idea of justice be applied to the arc of
Creation, Fall, and Redemption?
Throughout the novel, Scout often acts like she understands
the adult world, but deep down she is a bit in over her head—maybe she will
understand fully later, but for now she is actually not understanding
everything. She is, after all, growing up.
Write a letter to Scout that, according to how she is
growing at the moment of the novel, might help her understand other characters
a little bit better. Write a letter to Scout that responds to the following:
Explain how two different characters from To Kill a Mockingbird might answer the
questions below. Choose one character who is sympathetic toward Tom Robinson
and one character who accuses Tom Robinson. Provide evidence, and be prepared to
share in discussion:
1.
How are things supposed to be, or how were they
before things went wrong?
2.
How have they gone wrong? Who is to blame?
3.
How can they be changed?
Write at least a one
page letter to Scout. 8 points for writing, 2 points for quality of
discussion/quality of evidence.
